The Road Never Ends

I once asked God, "What"s life to You?"
The Maker smiled and said, "It"s true-
Life is a road that rolls ahead,
No final line, no end," He said.

I"ll sing and dance, the flowers praise,
The Earth beneath, the sunlit haze
And may this winding path I tread
Lead to the land my soul once fled.

I"ll cast out doubts, let worries fade,
A daring heart, not one afraid.
This road is lit by Heaven"s glow,
No start or end, just onward flow.

Let friends be clouds and skies above,
The sun, the fields I"ve come to love,
And from afar, still running free-
The river of my life and me.

Let rains fall down and wild winds blow,
They push the traveler as they go.
No joy more true than stars and song
When wandering nights are deep and long.

Forgive me, love, for being gone,
So many miles I journeyed on.
But every road, both far and wide,
Will always bring me home in time.
